Inored Story apple trees wholesale, a French scab-resistant cultivar.

Origin: INRAE breeding, France

The Inored cultivar was bred in France, at Angers, by the national research institute INRAE. The controlled cross Pinova × selection X6398 was made in 1995, and the first grafts were done in 1998 at Jonquières.

“Story” is the trade name of the cultivar Inored, and foreign catalogues list it as Story Inored. In Europe the cultivar is handled by NOVADI and its licensees, for example Dalival; on our site and price list we use the name “Inored Story”.

Fruit, scab and harvest window

The fruit is medium-sized with yellow skin and a large purple-red flush; the flesh is firm and cream-coloured. The cultivar resists common scab races (the Vf, or Rvi6, gene). Fruit thinning is compulsory.

Harvest is late to very late: the fruit is picked after Granny Smith and well after Golden Delicious. Calendar dates depend on the season and the region, so plan picking crews by fruit maturity.

The fruit keeps in an ordinary cold room for many months, so apples can be sold in winter and spring.

Fit for a late-picking orchard

Inored Story is meant for an orchard with late picking and fruit stored into winter; the scab resistance gene lowers dependence on that disease. Z5–Z8 is the winter hardiness of the tree on the USDA scale. For a cultivar picked very late, the length of the warm period also matters, which the scale does not show, so compare the date of your first autumn frost with the harvest window.

Stock and grade

Inored Story is currently available only in grade 1+: 28,000 knip trees on 9 October 2026 at RUB 360 including VAT. Stock is in the table below, the full prices are on the sapling prices page, and the other cultivars are in the apple saplings section.

Orders start at 6,000 saplings, in steps of 250 per cultivar. Pickup and payment terms are collected on the shipping routine page.

Grade 1+ covers trees with one or more branches in the crown; trees with a more developed crown are not available for Inored Story at the moment. The entire stock of 28,000 trees costs 28,000 × 360 = RUB 10,080,000, and the minimum lot of 6,000 trees costs RUB 2,160,000. Trees are loaded in the lifting windows: October–November 2026 in fall and March–April 2027 in spring.
