Red King Roat (King Roat Red Delicious) was selected in South Tyrol for better colour and grows as a semi-spur tree. In the nursery it is available in grades 1+ and 3+ on M9, collected from Sunzha.
As of 9 October 2026 the Sady Stavropolya nursery has 15,200 Red King Roat knip apple trees on M9 rootstock in stock, of which 8,200 are grade 1+ at RUB 360 and 7,000 are grade 3+ at RUB 400. Where Red King Roat comes from
The full name is King Roat Red Delicious, and the site records it as Red King Roat. It is a bud mutation of Hapke found in Algund near Merano, South Tyrol, and selected for brighter fruit colour.
Colour, habit and productivity
Red King Roat belongs to the fully blushed strains with an intense dark red colour. The fruit starts colouring earlier than on other Red Delicious strains and has a long symmetric shape.
The tree grows as a semi-spur type, vigour is low to medium, and productivity is very good. The cultivar stores like other Red Delicious sports.

Pollinizers for Red King Roat
Five pollinizers are named for Red King Roat. They are Gala, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji and Idared. Four are in the nursery, and the list shows stock as of 9 October 2026:
